Melissa Betters

Melissa Betters is a deep-sea biologist and science communicator whose research focuses on the discovery, evolution, and biogeography of deep-sea species. She has spent a cumulative 125 days at sea and has dove to the bottom of the ocean on nine submersible dives. Before moving to the D.C. area, she earned her Ph.D. from Temple University in Philadelphia and her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Florida State University.
