David E. Nye

David E. Nye is an American historian specializing in the history of technology, particularly energy. He is the author of thirteen books with the MIT Press, including The Great Energy Transition: America from 1876 to 1929. His work has been recognized by the Leonardo da Vinci Medal in 2005 and a knighthood conferred by the Queen of Denmark in 2013.
